Dropping Test of Cylinder
1. Scope 
This guideline specified the dropping test requirement and the method for fire extinguisher cylinders, suitable to the dropping test for the cylinders designed & manufactured as per EN3-3 and tested according to TRG760 Sandard.
2.Sample
The 1 st cylinder and 1 from 1000 manufactured subsequently in the same lot shall be taken for the burst test;
3.Test Equipment and Fixture
3.1 Test Equipment: Dropping test fixture, it is installed and ensure the distance between the ground and testing fixture is 1.5m and it could carried out in the different angle.
3.2 Specification of 2 metter tape measure: to ensure the height of test ;
3.3 One tank for leaking test , Nitrogen or cleared compressed air is used for increase pressure.
4.Test Method and Procedure
4.1 Filling the water into the cylinder till to the total volume of 95%. Then increase pressure to 15.4bar with nitrogen or compressed air.
4.2 Mount the cylinder into the dropping test fixture,and with 4 different angles to do it.
4.2.1 the head of cylinder verticals to the ground;
4.2.2 the bottom of cylinder verticals to the ground;
4.2.3 the cylinder parallels to the ground;
4.2.4 the head of cylinder faces to the ground with 45°angle.
The distance between the lowest part of cylinder and the ground shall be keep 1.5meter. Then relieve air and make the cylinder dropped freely. Bitmap Bitmap
5. The cylinder shall not be leak during the leaking test after the cylinder is dropped.
6. Record the test result.
